Until 2025 Islandix Instruments designed, manufactured, and produced tools for bicycle wheelbuilding and repair. Tools are sold out and out of production with no plans to resume. Islandix still exists to service warranties.

In spite of distributing tools to over 25 countries and winning awards for innovation, Islandix was only a breakeven business. In 2025 trade was destabilized by Americans in red hats, which caused some of our suppliers to shutdown and others to exponentially increase order minimums. This puts upward pressure on selling price when our customers find themselves wielding fewer resources due to tariff-related costs. Continuing production could not be justified.

Islandix-manufactured equipment, including the WA-1 controller and FP-2 foot pedal, is warranted against defects in manufacturing for a period of three years from the date of purchase. Other tools and accessories including but not limited to indicators and cables are warranted free of defects for one year from purchase. At our discretion Islandix Instruments Corporation will repair or replace any components determined to be defective. Warranty terms are extended to the original purchaser and include parts, labor and one-way shipping by postal airmail or a freight subsidy of the same value. This is a return-for-repair warranty with the cost of return freight borne by the purchaser.

Parts and labor are generally available for older tools and tools acquired on the secondary market (at least for customers demonstrating courtesy and patience). Parts and labor are inexpensive and often free but freight is billed on a cost recovery basis.
